FAQs
When and where will construction take place?
The project will take place along Erickson Road from Larwood Creek Crossing to just west of Nature Park Drive. The City anticipates construction to commence in spring 2026.
Who has been involved in developing the plan?
The City is working with Highland Engineering Services Ltd. to provide engineering, surveying and project management services. The City has also engaged local First Nations. A contractor has not been selected and a public tender for this project will be posted in late 2025.
Will the project include pedestrian/cycling improvements on Erickson Road?
We understand there is demand in the area for surface improvements to increase safety for pedestrians in the area, such as sidewalks, trails and lighting. As part of the current scope of work, the City plans to infill sidewalks to areas that do not currently have them. The City hopes to complete wider improvements as well, but this portion of work is dependent on securing funding through grants. Currently, only the utility upgrades are funded.
I live on Erickson Road in the construction zone – how will my property be impacted?
The project team will be in touch with property owners and residents in the construction zone to share more information about disruptions and potential impacts in front of homes and along the roadway.
